ABOUT THE ARTIST
With a formal design background and decade-long careers in both Graphic Design and homewares/interiors, Louise Friedland has blended her combined skills, bringing about a perfect marriage of her two passions in the contemporary artworks she creates. A passion for design and interiors of the 50's 60's and 70's (as well as a lifelong obsession with gold) heavily inspires Louise’s creations - predominantly acrylic on canvas. Her work draws additional inspiration from simplicity, form and texture.
One of Louise's proudest achievements as a young "artist" was having her Paul Klee-inspired HSC art major work selected to be exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales as part of their annual Art Express exhibition (1992).
Louise has a Bachelor of Design degree from the University of New South Wales.
